Happy New Year to all my wonderful readers, commenters (and purchasers from my Etsy shops.) Your continued encouragement keeps me going! Thank you all so much.
One wonderful thing about having a blog is being able to look back and do a year in review.
We all often feel like we don’t get enough done with the time we have, but an objective look may be surprising!
Posted on this blog in 2012:
- a whopping 46 videos! – most of them on jewelry making, thanks for all your appreciative comments, here and on my YouTube channel
- 24 cards
- participation in all 12 of Tim Holtz’s 12 Tags of 2012
- 40 or so crafts
- a measly 8 scrapbook pages (well, I guess there just isn’t enough time to do everything, ya know?)
- 3 quilts completed
- 17 sewing projects including

Here’s hoping for a happy and creative 2013!
I really enjoy your jewelry videos so I hope you’ll continue to make more in 2013. I don’t sew for myself but used to do some craft sewing and have only dabbled a tiny bit with card making. I’m hoping to find more time to craft in the new year.
Happy New Year!
Hey Shirlee, Thanks so much for your kind comments! It’s definitely hard to find time to create, there always seems to be something else (like laundry, cooking and cleaning) yelling for attention. However, it is definitely in my plan to continue with the jewelry videos this year. I have a new camcorder, so they should be getting better very soon. 🙂
Happy creating!
What a great retrospective! Gosh, I can’t decide what I like best. Miss Fine Feathers, obviously, was one of my favorites, but your new little dragon is stunning. I love the jewelry videos, especially the antique-looking jewelry. But I think the clothes are my favorite. You make tailoring look easy, and I love the deep jewel tones you use. They look good with antique jewelry. 🙂
Congrats on a great year! I’m looking forward to what you do this year.
Awww, thanks Robin, you’ve been a great encouragement this year. I’m not sure who I like better, Miss Fine Feathers or Mr. Jasper, but they’ve all been fun to make.
I guess the lesson I’ve learned this year is that the things I love the most and want to keep for myself are the ones others most want to buy. So, I can’t make a living by keeping them for me, even though it feels kinda like selling a child. Maybe you feel that way about your books?
Oh, no, Sandy. My books are mass-produced, so I’m happy for people to buy them. Your creations are one-of-a-kind. The only thing that bothers me is when people call my kids ugly. 😀
