Happy What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday everyone!
Your view of today’s desk may explain why I’m feeling rather overwhelmed at the moment. There’s no order, no rhyme or reason, just a lot of unfinished projects. I could make a mile-long to do list merely from looking at the photo.
Of course, the culprit just might be that pretty little gadget in the lower right. Yup, that’s my new iPhone and learning to use it has been fun, exciting, frustrating and most of all, TIME-CONSUMING.
I think I spent 1 1/2 hours yesterday just sorting out my contacts. Sheesh. But they are now all nice and tidy, and that makes me happy, so there’s that. 😉
Let me know of your favorite apps, btw, crafty, houseworky, organizing, productivity, all suggestions are welcome!
Lest you think I’ve done nothing but play on my phone, here’s proof that I actually DID finish those cards last week. It did not happen all in one day, but took until Friday. I actually ended up making a baker’s dozen, but one was mailed off before I took this photo.
The three in the lower left (and the one I mailed) were done with a partial die cutting technique. With the exception of the pink, glittery oval (I’ll have to think carefully about who will get this glitter bomb) the rest were done with embossing pastes through stencils. I colored the paste with distress inks and am especially happy with the top left three. The two brownish ones were gold embossing paste through a steampunk stencil. They didn’t come out quite as cool as I’d hoped but they’ll do.
If you have a few minutes to spare, you can go to What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday to check out the workdesks of other creative people from all over. Why do we do this? Cuz Julia says, and it’s What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday!
Lucky you getting a new iphone.
I don’t use my phone much other than as a clock lol
Beautiful cards you finished 🙂 #31
I did the same with my old one, but now,,, well, things are quite different indeed. 🙂
Hi Sandy, these new phones are a bit of a nightmare to get your head around, aren’t they? I have Evernote on mine, in the hope it will stop me making duplicate purchases! Also, one called My Markers, which has pretty much every brand of marker listed along with the colours in the range. Also, the Tim Holtz app, which I love. Lists all his products/colours etc, and you can put a tick next to what you have, or ‘wishlist’ them.Love the cards, laughed at the ‘glitterbomb!’. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #9 xxx
Hi Shaz, yes, I have the TH app already, it was one of the first I added! Now to add all my supplies to the list. Many folks have recommended Evernote, I’ll have to check it out.
Thanks for the visit and the recommendations!
I agree with you about phones, they are a bit of a timewaster, but there is so much to do, My little one is constantly downloading apps from the store, we down loaded a ghost one which is supposed to show up where the ghosts are standing, I was playing along with keels and asked one if it wanted a cuppa, now bearing in mind the app we downloaded had no sound, the ghost replied with a “yes” not downloaded any more apps since then 🙂 your cards are fab, love the two rectangle ones. Thanks for the snoop

Well, that sounds like a creepy app, think I’ll skip that one!
I truly don’t think we’ll ever NOT have all our projects finished. It’s not possible with me as I have so many ideas and not enough time. So great ATC’s…love the variety. Good luck with your new phone. I’ve no suggestions as I’m still learning mine. Right now I need a weather app….it is thundering and lightening and rain on the way. We had yesterday with Sunshine so that’s was our 1 day of bliss. But I’ve inside things to do today if we maintain electricity . #39 Enjoy a fun week
You are so right, Slyvia. I came to that conclusion when cleaning out my grandmother’s craft room after she died. I didn’t know until then that she and I organized things the same way. It was eerie to realize that someday someone will be sorting through all my unfinished projects.
Hahaha! It sure looks like you’re having fun! Love the cards.
Oh yes, especially once I downloaded Fruit Ninja. hahaha
Hi Sandy happy WOYWW – I know I’m late-ish but some days one has other things get in the way (lol like a new iPhone) But I do love the cards you’ve finished, yes especially the top three – gorgeous. Enjoy your week and thanks for visiting me RobynO#32
Love the cards. And yes, I think learning a new phone is time-consuming, which is why people tend to keep to one brand for years and years. ditto browsers and computers. But I bet once you learn it you’ll love it.
now I have to check out fruit ninja….
🙂
Happy WOYWW!

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one with a lot of UFO’s on my desk. I counted and I have 49, yes 49! Coloured images that need to make their way onto cards. I will get to them soon, just need to visit some friends from WOYWW.
