Happy What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday again! This is the time when we usually all share what’s on happening in our creative workspaces.
However, what’s been on my workdesk the past couple days is some of the best work I’ve done in a while. I’m so pleased with it, in fact, that I plan to submit it to a magazine for publication.
This means, alas, that I cannot show it to you now. I hope you’ll be satisfied with some recent things that have been on my workdesk.
These coiled clay votive holders are what I was working on a couple weeks ago as a gift for my mom’s birthday. The coils are made by stacking circles of different colors in a Clay Extruder. I think I need to stack thinner layers of color to get more frequent color changes.
This polymer clay bangle is what I ended up with after taking Nikolina Otrzan’s class, Doodle Me Do Canes and Bangles over at CraftArtEdu.
It was a great learning experience and Nikolina explains things well. But I found myself aching to put some vines & leaves & other organic things on it, lol.
Linear is SO not my style.
Finally, I’ve been working on finishing a quilt for a friend. As you can see, I’ve had some help.
I think they approve. 🙂
So that’s what I’ve got this week. Show us yours! Join in the blog party fun over at Julia’s and have a very happy and creative Wednesday.
Looks like you have got a couple of fury helpers??????
Hope we get to see the finished quilt

I didn’t actually make the quilt top, Jackie, I’m just finishing it for a friend who ran out of time.
Yes, furry helpers are the best. 🙂
Some lovely work there, Sandy. Those candle holders are great. I’m with you, though. I would have wanted to put vine leaves or something on the bangle… Great quilt – lots of help going on there.
Take care. God bless.

Thanks for stopping by, Margaret!
Hi Sandy, happy WOYWW and I agree…gorgeous projects and I too have furry helpers. Cheers and have a great week RobynO#22
Thanks, Robyn. 🙂
Oh how nice of you to make a quit and give it away! Can I get in the line please?!!!
I’m with you on linear…also am getting to know you by photo because I was surprised at the bangle design – without swirls and curlys! LOVE the votives, what a fab idea and the metallicy gleam is gorgeous.
Thanks, Julia, lol.
A light brushing of perfect pearl on the clay is what gives the candle holders that pretty glow, btw.
Your polymer clay projects are both gorgeous, and am especially impressed with the canes you made for your bangle. That’s a technique I’ve never been able to master. Your cats are sweet and you are fortunate to have them help you with your quilt. LOL! Happy WOYWW and Blessings.

Hi Arnoldo, thanks for stopping by. One thing that helps with the canes is to work with firm clay. Not that I’ve mastered anything!
Those votive holders are so cool

Thanks, Bridget!
Hahahaha! Catz! I love all the new stuff you do. You’re such an inspiration!
Thank, Robin. I think you’re kind of inspiring, too. So there. 🙂
Ha ha ha love the helpers…strangely enough I made my first full size quilt this year and I too had a helper – http://hamnmuledesigns.blogspot.com/2014/03/have-machinewill-quilt-part-3-finished.html – love the votive holders, absolutely gorgeous and so clever. Cx #60
Hi Claire, love your pics of the kitty helpers. Something about quilts cats just cannot resist. They have excellent taste, I say. 🙂
Those votives are gorgeous. Just my kinda colours. Good luck with the magazine submission.
Fiona #66
Thanks, Fiona. It will likely be months and months before I hear anything, but the thought is exciting. 🙂
A cat tested and approved quilt is the best quilt! The candle votives are very nifty looking. The bangle is fun too, but I agree with you that it needed some vines or something. Judy #71
It’s rare for a quilt to leave my house without being cat tested and approved. 🙂
you really have been busy! have a great week. helen 6
Thanks for stopping by, Helen!
Brilliant projects – those little candle holders are such a clever idea, bet your Mum was thrilled to bits with them – and your last pic really made me smile because my cat used to help in just the same way! :o) HAppy WOYWW Annie C #54

Sew much going on you busy bee and sneaky hiding things away but glad you are proud of what you made enough to submit it. I am so self critical I wouldn’t date

Obviously the kitties are test experts.
Happy crafting and have a good week, Angela x #44
Very late getting to Woyww this week, but those candle holders are gorgeous, love the colours, bet your mum did too.
And the quilt, well can’t see much of that, but the ‘toppings’ are beautiful, bless them.
Have a great weekend
