Happy Wednesday, all!
Today’s workdesk finds me working on some more dragon wing earrings for my Etsy shop, this time in shades of blue, purple and silver.
Also on the desk is my much needed new Ott Lite. These days the eyes appreciate all the help they can get. 🙂
That colorful strip in the middle is me testing out all my different shades of mica powders. My only problem is that once I put a finish on the clay the mica changes in appearance. Any suggestions?
These are the other dragon wings earrings from my Etsy shop. Btw, I’m having a 50% off sale in my Etsy shop through this Saturday, the 7th, if you’re looking for unique jewelry for someone.
Wondering why I posted a photo of my messy workdesk? It’s What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday, the day we take the time to see what other creative folks from all over the world are working on. Take a peek, you might get hooked!
Happy creating 🙂

Thanks, Victoria, glad you like ’em. And thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful earrings and such a wonderfully unique idea. I love the pretty green ones against the beautiful yellow branch. Unfortunately I can’t help with your question re the changing of the mica powders on the clay, but I am sure on of our fellow WoYWWers will be able to assist. Have a great week! Danie #25
Mica is supposed to reflect the light of its substrate…I believe, so to get it to behave differently, you’d have to colour the clay another colour first I think…does that make sense?
The problem is that after applying a finish, much of the sparkle is gone.
Sandy, those earrings are absolutely beautiful, very clever lady.

Hi Sandy, Happy WOYWW! Thanks for visiting me, and you are right on the decorating, the whole house wants doing but I can’t imagine how my craft room will get done, everything will need shifting. We are talking new floor so it will all have to move, maybe after Christmas!
I love your dragon wings earrings, the ones on the desk looks gorgeous in blue. They are so delicate!
