Every now and then it’s fun to challenge yourself in your creativity.
One way to do that is by setting constraints, and see what you can do within those limits.
The mystery design kits by Soft Flex are a perfect opportunity to do just that.
If you need a little beading challenge or inspiration, every month Soft Flex Company puts out a kit full of a carefully curated assortment of beads and findings, all in a particular theme.
I was impressed with how well everything worked together and just how many pieces were in the kit! I was able to make four pieces of jewelry with the findings included, and there are plenty of beads left for more.
Their description of the September kit is so lyrical:
The Golden Gate Design Kit is a love letter to the world’s most famous bridge. This landmark is an iconic mix of color and mystery. The rich red span is often hugged in pearlescent fog and is a striking figure against blue skies and soft pink color banded sunsets. Celebrate the mystery of this Art Deco masterpiece with this stunning design kit.
Isn’t that lovely? Watch the video to see everything that came in the kit and what I made.
Every month they also have a live kit reveal and designing session in their Facebook group.
Plus there’s their Soft Flex Very Important Beading (VIB) Studio – Jewelry Making Inspiration Facebook group, where you can see what other’s are creating.
This was September’s kit and it’s sold out, but October’s is now on sale:
The Great Pumpkin Design Kit is a delectable mix of Halloween fun. Jolly orange jack-o’-lanterns keep watch on festive doorsteps. Black cats slink in the long shadows. Translucent Ghosts dance and chain rattles in the attic. Create a terrifying talisman with this eerie mix of beads and components. Haunt your neighborhood with this chilling collection!
Sounds like fun!

Those elements are so pretty!! That must be why the Great Pumpkin Kit is already sold out! :O
Wow, that was fast! I was thinking of getting one for myself, ah well.
Were you going to get the October kit? Have you been beading?
