Do you love technology, or do you hate it?
I’m guessing since you are reading this blog post you likely either love it or are somewhere in between.
I hate the way technology can make us dependent on it, sometimes past the bounds of common sense. And the way it can suck up time with useless activities if we’re not careful.
But I do love how it can connect people with common interests from all over the world. Like all of you, my wonderful viewers and readers!
It’s also so much fun to use these tools to aid in our art. I love that with the tap of a screen you can do so many creative things.
Today’s video has two parts:
- In the first I talk about Adobe Capture CC, an app for your phone or tablet that will help you to capture color palettes. (It also does LOTS more than that, which I’ll explore another time.)
- In the second part I show how I mixed polymer clay colors based on the palette I created using simple color theory principles.
The colors of clay shown in the video:
- Premo Spanish Olive
- Sculpey Soufflé Key Lime
- Sculpey Soufflé Latte
- Sculpey Soufflé Cowboy
- Premo Burnt Umber
- Premo White
- Premo Ultramarine Blue Hue
- Premo Cadmium Red Hue
Let me know how YOU would use a tool like this.
Enjoy the video and happy creating!

I agree: the advances in technology are wonderfully helpful in a number of fields. My problem is that it’s happening so quickly, I feel kind of left behind. :O Anyway, nice to see how you were able to make such good use of this app!
I keep up as best I can, but yeah, it sure does move fast!
