This idea has been kicking around in my mind for quite some time. I imagined it would be a simple and elegant way to use cup chain and it turned out to be so. I was quite pleased with how easily these went together.
Sometimes an idea that seems good as you’re thinking of it doesn’t turn out so great in reality.
Of course, it can be hard to tell with the terrible sketching that I do! As you can see, I’m not much of a drawer. Three dimensional work is definitely far more my forte.
I hope you give this project to try, I picture them as really gorgeous, glamorous, swinging earrings to wear around the holidays. But I’m wearing mine today, just because I can. 🙂
Tools & Materials:
- 6-8 inches cup chain– Mine is a nice quality that I got at Eureka Crystal beads, but you can also find good ones on Amazon.
- 4 cup chain connectors
- 6 small jump rings
- 2 post earrings with loop
- 2 earring backs
- chain nose pliers
- wire cutters
- E6000 glue
Enjoy the video and happy creating!

Sweet! The chains are just the right length–enough to swing but not get caught in hair or fingers.
Actually, I shortened the blue ones a bit after trying them on. Just five or six cups.
Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend wearing these if one is going to be holding a baby. They’re liable to yank your ear off. 🙂
