Happy What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday all!
This week’s desk shows a project I’ve nearly completed, which is the next class for CraftArtEdu. (For a sneak peek, check out the upper left.) Also on the desk I’m once again working on the next dragon for my challenge. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m participating in the Polymer Clay Adventure, which has a new polymer clay class twice a month. Last week’s class was by Laurie Mika teaching how to make gothic mini shrines.
I have absolutely no interest in making any sort of shrine, but did like how she used gold leaf and rubber stamping on clay, plus how she embedded all sorts of doo-dads into her piece. Crackling the leaf on clay is super easy and I love the look.
Check back tomorrow to see my completed dragon #15!
That’s all I’ve got for this week. If you wonder why I’m sharing a photo of my desk, it’s this fun little blog hop game we play over at Julia’s called What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.
Ooh, so much interesting stuff you have going on. I also love the gold leaf. Is that box on the center white sheet a project or just practice? Are those shells in the corners?
Wow, good eye, Robin! Yes, those are shells in the corners and that IS the project for this week.
Cool. Is it a knickknack box or something?
I love all that sparkly, glittery fun! I’ve done tutorials before where I didn’t necessarily want to make what they were making…but I loved the technique. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #49que!
Thanks for stopping by, Sandy!
Sandy, this new view of your desk, gave me the opportunity for a good old nosy. Can you explain the pen/Lizard thingy at the back of your desk..I love Lizards, so I am curious. Cx #55
Thanks for stopping by, Claire! The pen is one of my weekly dragons from a couple weeks back You can see better photos and read all about it here: http://keepsakecrafts.net/blog/2015/03/26/thursdays-dragon-12-virgil
Gorgeous effect with the gold leaf, love it. Have a great crafty week, Angela x 36 x
OMG I did a class with Laurie Mika years ago when she came to Melbourne Australia and loved every second on my time with her, she is a brilliant teacher. She was a bit worried when in her class I wanted to do an image transfer onto my polymer clay as it is a difficult technique, but hey I pulled it off brilliantly. I also helped supply ovens to cook the clay in, which the temperature played up and was a big pain. Say hi to her from me, I hope she brings her sister too, she is just beautiful.

Happy WOYWW
Oh I forgot to say Stephan is an actor from the Vampire Diaries

How interesting that the gold leaf crackles on polymer clay. I have not yet delved into the polymer clay craft. I do everything eventually though..lol..so I will have to try out gold leafing on it 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my desk earlier. Shel@PaperOcotilloStudio #17
That crackled gold leaf is brilliant! I also like the beadwork (thats what it looks like) on the left. Lots of interesting stuff to look at.
Have a great week,

I love the gold leaf that you are using! I was lucky enough to do a class with Laurie Mika (IRL), some years ago. She was lovely and a great teacher!
I’ll come back to see how your project turns out 🙂
great looking desk. I bought some gold leaf and the fixative but have yet to play with it. I bought it for a project class that never materialized. I will have to give it a go someday soon.! Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Vickie #8
