Happy What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday everyone! Today I’m coming to you from the land of ice and snow… that is, southeastern Massachusetts. We’re breaking snow total records here folks, 85.5 inches since the first of the year.
I’m just thankful our oldest son is here to help with the shoveling. So far I haven’t had to shovel yet. (I started to suit up to go out once, but was sent back in. So, Fine. I’ll stay in and cook them warm things to take off the chill once they’re done.)
I’m also thankful that my work can be done at home, as long as we have electricity & internet.
In case you’re wondering about the beer bottles on my desk. Well, this cartoon says it all: And quite accurately, at that. 🙂
Today (whist drinking beer) I’m working through Abby Hook’s wonderful book, Wire Jewelry Masterclass.
First of all I made my own wire coil ear wires. It’s super easy and she explains it really well. In the photo you can see I’ve completed one of the wire wrapped butterfly wing earrings. They’re coming out so pretty, I really like how the fuchsia Swarovski crystal goes with the copper.
Once the wire work is done I’ll be carrying on with sculpting this week’s Thursday’s Dragon. We’re up to #6 this week. Be sure to check back tomorrow to see how it came out.
If you’re wondering why I’m sharing photos of my desk, well, it’s What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday, the day we all get together at Julia’s and take a peek at each other’s creative goings on. It’s always fun and often inspiring. Join us if you have a few minutes!
Happy creating 🙂
Well done on not having to shovel snow yet! Glad you can work from home too, that saves having to go out in it. We’ve only had a short lived bit of snow, down here near London in UK, luckily! Your desk is great today with your jewelry out! Helen #1
Thanks for stopping by, Helen.
85.5inches of snow??? Goodness. There isn’t even that much on top of Snowdon! None here at all on the North Wales coastline. They did have some further down the coast last week – but that’s gone – it isn’t hanging around here.
As you day, you can cook, keep warm, and do your lovely jewellery.
Take care. God bless.

Yup, I’m thankful to have plenty to do, and a warm home to do it in. 🙂
Keep cosy and enjoy your crafting!
Thanks, Twiglet!
Wow. I can’t wrap my mind around all that snow. Glad to hear that you have guys to dig you out, work to keep you busy, and beer to keep you happy. 😀
Maybe this article will help: http://abcnews.go.com/US/boston-snow-storm-facts-show-citys-dealing/story?id=28840524
I can empathize with your snow troubles, We are just north of you! Although I do think you have more snow than we do so far! It is so nice, though, to hunker down and work on something worthwhile in these snowbound winter months, and i see that is just what you are doing! Your earring look awesome. My friend and I are working through a Lettering Book, also a lot of fun! Lindart #59
Thanks, Linda. Stay warm!
Those earrings are so pretty – I love playing with beads and wire. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #48
Thank you, Sandy. Happy creating!
I think 85″ of snow would make even the teetotalers drink!!! I want to drink just knowing it exists somewhere in my country! The earrings are coming along nicely. The copper is such a warm color, perfect for butterflies! Judy #69
Lol, Judy!
Hi,
The first thing I noticed was your beer bottles, you see that is pat of my creative process, melting bottles. I have a lot of empties in my studio.
Your earrings are going to look great.

That sounds like an interesting process, Jill. Thanks for the visit!
I would settle for the cooking part too ( besides, your getting the beer anyhow!) your earrings look great, must be interesting to realize that stuff you usually buy can be built yourself. Copper is such a lovely colour!

Thanks for stopping by, Kristiina.
Luv the cartoon. I remember snow from my childhood. So glad we now live in AZ where the temp today is in the 80’s. Happy WOYWW and VD as well.
Thanks for sharing Pat #71
It sounds really cold where you are. We have had a bit but think it’s done now but you never know.
I should stay in and let the men do the shoveling, you can craft inbetween making hot drinks and soup.
Hope you have a great crafty week too, Angela x 37
Love that cartoon! If we had had as much snow as you got, we would not have a frozen septic system right now! There are blessings in deep snow too! Still trying to find the blessings in deep COLD though!
Your earrings are looking fab. Copper is so warm and Swarovski crystals are to die for! I’m thinking there can’t be a better combinations.
Thanks for your visit. :<)
Nann 45 or 49 — go figure!
The carton is a hoot! I do feel for you with all that snow. I like copper wire as it seems most earrings are silver of gold. Thank you for stopping by my blog this week.
Had to chuckle at the cartoon.
Love the earrings.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy WOYWW
