Happy What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday, everyone. I’m writing this post today in the midst of a blizzard. It makes one very thankful to have a warm home. Electricity and internet are a bonus!
My workdesk today is in its attempted cat-proof state while I’m off doing something else. One of our cats has been finding all kinds of unique places to nap: laptop keyboards, the printer, the uncomfortable uneven edge of a bookcase and the narrow railing at the top of the stairs. He even jumped on top of our flat screen TV! (Not a good spot for a nap, btw.)
After I found him sitting on my table in the midst of all the clay bits, needle tools and razor blades, I knew it was time to do something.
That’s an aluminum roasting pan over the works in progress, with another on top to keep it from looking inviting to kitties.
In spite of all that I did find him one day, napping upright in that little space beside the computer mouse. Silly guy.
Are you wondering why I posted a photo of my messy desk? If so, they you need to get acquainted with What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday. It’s this fun blog hop that happens every Wednesday (hence, the name.) You just might find yourself inspired!
Hope your cat-proofing works… Helen 4
So far, so good!
Cats will do as they please, but good luck with your “cat proofing”!!! Such dear creatures even if they make us a bit bonkers sometimes!
Happy Crafting!

They are dear creatures indeed, although I didn’t find picking cat hair out of my clay pieces particularly endearing. lol
Cats just want to be where the action is!! And if that’s your desk, then so be it 🙂 Good luck with the cat proofing – I bet he’ll get around it somehow or just casually flip the aluminium tray off with a paw. Grin!
Hugs, LLJ 20 xx
Haha, I wouldn’t be surprised!
Hehe, surely by covering things up you are making them look more inviting?! That is how cats seem to think!
Happy Deskday

They are contrary, aren’t they?
Oh, that’s funny! I’m glad to hear that you and the kittehs are weathering the blizzard in style.
Yup, we’re all good here. We didn’t get as much snow as expected and Josh & Gary did all the shoveling. We never lost power or internet either, so I call that very good.
LOL..I am surprised he didn’t just curl up in the upright pan. Silly cats seem to enjoy boxes so much…being enclosed is fun I guess? Happy crafting. Shel#55
I dunno why they like boxes, but they sure do! I made sure my boxes were full of uncomfortable things, and so far he’s stayed away.
Cats obviously have a different view than humans as to what is comfy and what is not… Good luck with your cat proofing, hope you get to craft too!
Thanks! Yes, I did. 🙂
Oh dear, Sandy. He does seem to be one determined puss! Trust your new methods work.
Take care. God bless.

He’s very determined to sit on our laptop keyboards. We keep waiting for him to order us something from eBay, lol.
I think kitties say to themselves that you always pay a lot of attention to the things on the desk so I’ll go there so she can pay attention to me! Hubby would say it is just because they are evil. It is probably a little bit of both. Good luck with the cat proofing! Judy #64
I suspect you are both a little bit right. 🙂
I know exactly what you mean with kitties. I hadd 3 cats at the same time and it was amazing what ideas they came up with! I believe any hilarious story about a cat.
Thanks for your earlier visit!

Your trials with the kitty remind me of the ‘if I fits, I sits’ memes that’ve I’ve seen around online. If you haven’t seen them, you should definitely look them up. Too funny, I’m sure some will resonate with you. Here’s hoping your solution works!!
well at least by covering them you are protecting the stash and the kitty. I do believe they’ll squash into any space that they think will get them attention!
Oh dear! Are all kitties like that? We are thinking of getting a cat (never had one before). We have two or three cats that come to the door and live on the streets but they have never come inside. (flees, worms, you name it…)
But it looks like a good idea for keeping them off. Is it working?
Thank you for visiting yesterday,
Have a great week,
Lisca#34
LOL at your kitty I’ve just started making mine little towel beds he seems to like those 🙂 Good luck keeping them out of your space

I got here eventually! LOL. I’ve read somewhere – pinterest, no doubt – that an upturned empty box lid works wonders. You know the kind – like a jigsaw puzzle box lid. Cats find them irresistible…. Just put it where you want the cat to sleep, near where you want it not to sleep, and they’ll go for the box every time….
