Hi all! Happy Wednesday again. As I write this Tuesday night, we’re expecting yet another snowstorm here on the east coast. Guess I’ll spend my Wednesday snowed in and doing crafts. 🙂
On my desk (click for a larger look) you can see I’ve been making samples for jewelry classes at Joann’s. The one on the upper right is interesting. It’s just seeds beads strung onto 28 gauge wire in such a way to make lots of little branches. Joann’s design in the red is called “Coral Reef,” but I think mine in the green kinda looks like seaweed.
The one in the upper left and on the mat is called the “Brassy Beaded Bib Necklace.” It’s rather fussy and complicated for my taste, but hey.
In the bottom right are three pieces I’ve made for upcoming videos, so stay tuned!
I you’re wondering why I’m posting a photo of my work table, it’s because it’s What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Check it out and join in the fun!
Happy Creating 🙂
I agree that the green does look like seaweed. And I like it, although I don’t wear jewelry. Lucky you teaching at JoAnn’s.
Happy WOYWW from #1.
It’s nice teaching there, I especially like the teacher discount. 😀
Hope the snowstorm isn’t too wild. You’ve sure been getting hammered this winter. Your jewelry looks interesting. Hope the classes go well! Happy WOYWW! (And looks like I’m the first commentator… )

Nope, not a wild storm, just a slow and steady snowfall that’s amounted to 10 inches so far.
Jewellery making must be in the air as my DD is doing that atm too. Yours look interesting. I hope the storm isn’t to bad for you, we are in the midst of summer and heat, hard to believe ha.
Have a great week and happy crafting

Enjoy some sunshine for us!
Just looked at the snow pictures at Elizabeth and blue beards you folks are all getting a lot of snow while we are getting wind and rain!

You guys are getting some WILD wind & rain. I saw a couple videos. Wow.
ooowh lovely jewellery Sandi, and what a better way to spend a snowy cold day than at your desk crafting. Have a fun time cheers RobynO#16
Sadly, I had to go to the dentist, too. So it wasn’t all fun & games, lol.
I am so happy to see jewelry on your desk. Beads always make me happy. I’ve made some of those coral looking bracelets before. They were fun to do. Peg R 25
It’s funny, Peg, I don’t usually work with seed beads, so when I got up from finishing that “seaweed” necklace hubby told me I was looking kinda bug-eyed. Guess I should have refocused more, lol.
Hope you didn’t get too much snow – though being kept inside to craft is never a problem! Good luck with the jewelry classes. Helen 7
I have to say, one thing about winter is that the outside chores (except for shoveling) aren’t calling my name, making me feel guilty for staying inside and crafting. 🙂
Oh yum more creating coming along there.. and love the earring down below too, well done!
Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #31
Thanks, Shaz!
great looking desk! I agree it does look like seaweed! Our Joann’s does classes but I don’t think there are any jewelry classes here. Have a great week. Vickie aka Okienurse #52
Not all Joann’s has classes, something about revenue, the manager told me. You can inquire, though, and maybe they’ll add them.
I think the green is great – more impact iMO, but the very fact that you’re working off sheets that you picked up n store is impressive. I agree that the other one is fussy, but my goodness, it is lovely and there’s always someone who will want it. Oh my, you are patient!
These aren’t my designs, Julia, and they definitely tried my patience, lol.
Ohh that coral design looks very complicated and the green is definitely seaweed.
Sandra @59
It IS complicated. I have no idea how I’m going to teach it. ha
Love those branches! Red or green. Beading is one thing I am really not very good at.
Happy WOYWW!
Tertia#20
Thanks, Tertia! These aren’t the kinds of designs I usually do either.
Looks like you are making brilliantly use of being snowed in!! Love the look of your jewellery
Hugs Lisax #54
Thank you and thanks for stopping by, Lisa!
Wow what fun you are having. I haven’t done any beadwork for ages, maybe when I’ve finished my sewing I might get my beads out.
Love the flowers on the pink card at the front.
Chris #55
Chris, those are actually the metal components for the brass bib necklace. They do look a bit like flowers.
Your creativity is relentless. 😀 I hope the snow won’t interfere with your classes!
Relentless…. yeah, that’s a good word for it, lol.
Nah, we’re New Englanders, this isn’t enough school to close anything except some of the schools. 🙂
Beautiful pieces! Yes, we got over 8 inches of snow yesterday, and now it is really cold temperatures!
Great time for crafting. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us. #27
We ended up getting 10 inches, and it’s still coming down!
Coral or seaweed – it all looks good to me!!
Thank you, Jo. 🙂
SO pretty! (It’s a little fussy for my wearing taste, too, but still pretty!)
Happy woyww to you!

tiny books and snow
Thanks, Trisha!
Great workspace thanks for the visit xx Jan
What lovely jewelry. It takes such patience to work with such tiny pieces. I’m so impressed. April #24
