Hey all! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. My dad passed away last month and after a difficult two weeks I just arrived back home to Mass from New Mexico last Friday night. After decompressing a bit over the weekend, I finally got in some crafting.
The free tutorial for this bracelet was posted over the Art Jewelry Elements blog a while back.
Here’s my desk after working on it. Not too much of a mess. Just wait until I get back into polymer clay. haha
Why am I posting a photo of my worktable? Well, it’s What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday. You can read all about it over at Julia’s.
This was fun, self-indulgent kind of project. I made it just cuz I liked it and I wanted to, so there. ===grin=== The focal bead is way too big for practical wear, but I am kind of happy with how it looks.
So, here’s to craft therapy, guaranteed to always make one feel better.
Happy creating!
Oh I love the bead and the size! Beautiful bracelet.
Krisha #5 now off to bed for me!
Thanks, Krisha. But the thing sticks out 1 3/4 inches from my wrist. I’m thinkin’ somebody’s gonna get hurt!
Sorry to read about your dad. It was good to see you were able to craft a bit. That large bead is awesome. I love it, too.
I’m with Krisha. It’s bedtime here, Happy WOYWW from #2.
I am so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing, pleased to have you here and crafting too. I love that large butter bead at the bottom, just divine.

Butter, white chocolate, vanilla…. it all = yummy!
I’m very sorry to hear about your dad. My thoughts are with you.I’ve just started participating in WOYWW about a month ago. I love this bracelet. The colors are awesome. I tried giving jewelry making a go, but just don’t have the patience. Not to mention, I don’t do well trying to read instructions. I’m a visual learner and need to see it done. I wish what I did looked even remotely like what you did. I look forward to seeing more of your work. (((HUGS)))

You might like this tutorial then, Kim, as she has excellent step-by-step photos to go with each of her instructions.
Love that bracelet, so big and bold, just gorgeous. I’ve been playing with polymer clay with my little miss over the holidays. Great fun. Sorry about your dad.
Have a great week.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. The beads look great, hope crafting a little eases some of the pain. Helen, 19
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Great bracelet – the focal bead looks like something covered in white chocolate – I just wanted to eat it (can you tell I am dieting?)
Thanks for sharing – take are

Ooooo, white chocolate, yes! Neet, you’re not the only one who thinks of food when they look at this bead. It always puts me in mind of vanilla swirls. Someone else mentioned butter, mmmmm…… 😉
So very sorry for your loss x
Glad the beading helped, thats a beautiful creation.

Thanks, Ria!
LOVE the turquoise–I see you were artistically inspired by your trip to NM, if nothing else. Sure hope everything works out with your dad’s estate.
There is a LOT of art to be seen in New Mexico, that’s for sure. We got to see only a little; as you know our trip wasn’t about being tourists. We did do a few fun things, though. 🙂 And, yes, I hope and pray it works out justly. Thanks!
So sorry to read your sad news Sandy. You’re absolutely spot on with the books. Lemony Snicket is much loved by both my children. Beautiful beads, in one of my favourite colours. Just love the crackled turquoise. Thanks for stopping by today x
Loved your cards, Fiona. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
Hi Sandy. Good to have you back. I do trust, that as you mourn the death of your father, you are able to remember lots of good times with thanksgiving.
Love the beads – our grand daughter, Gwennan, would think all her birthdays and Christmases had arrived if she saw those. Just loves making jewellery – even took her own stall on the school fayre the other week – made £50!!
Thanks for popping in earlier.
have a precious week.

Wow, good for your granddaughter! That’s wonderful.
Sorry to hear of your dad passing on. But I love what you did with the time you spent on yourself doing something that made you happy, just because! I would wear a bead that big! You get used to stuff hanging off your wrist…I have some really dangly things that I wear. Give it a go!
You guys may have convinced me to go ahead and wear it. 🙂
I’m so sorry you lost your dad, that is so hard. Craft therapy is good 🙂

Thank you, Jean.
I am so sorry for your loss, and so glad that you can lose yourself in making something beautiful. That bracelet is stunning and the large bead is gorgeous, so just go ahead and wear it! Annette #8
All right, all right, all you folks telling me to wear it, I just might!
Aww, I’m so sorry to hear about your poor dad. It’s not an easy time you’re going through at the moment but my only advise would be to be kind to yourself. Thinking of you hun.
That bracelet is amazing by the way. I love all the texture and colour…..just beautiful.
Happy Crafting!
