Happy What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday everyone!
Today I’m finishing a necklace using techniques from Abby Hook’s Wire Jewelry Masterclass. Last week I showed you the figure eight chain in progress, plus the pendant.
This week I’m putting it all together by making hook clasps. The two in the upper left didn’t come out quite right, but the bottom ones will do.
Now the necklace is all done except for a Liver of Sulfur patina. If you’re interested in knowing what that is, I made a video explaining the process: Liver of Sulfur Patinas
If you’re wondering why I’m sharing photos of my desk, well, it’s What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday, the day we all get together at Julia’s and take a peek at each other’s creative goings on. It’s always fun and often inspiring. Join us if you have a the time.
Well done, Ssndy.
Take care. God bless.

Thank you, Margaret!
Hi Sandy, that is a gorgeous piece. Every new skill takes practice and trial and error. well done you. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #18 xx
So true, Shaz! I feel like I’m just barely starting to get it. 🙂
Oh, that is very pretty. I do like the copper. You’re going to show it again once it’s patinaed, right?
I will show it with the patina. It may be a while as it’s a stinky process and I’ll probably wait to do it outside.
That necklace is turning out beautifully. I once made a patina on a silver clay piece by putting it in a bag with a boiled egg..lol..worked great. Have a creative week 🙂 Shel-PaperOcotilloStudio #51
Isn’t it amazing that the egg trick works? I did that a couple times before I got the liver of sulfur.
I love how that looks – I will have to watch the video. So pretty. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #48
Thanks, Sandy, hope you enjoy!
I’m green with envy! Tried my hand at bead/wire work for the first time this week, and could become an addict! Pic of my attempt on my post. Happy crafting, Chris # 21
Liver of sulfur…well. I just had to go see, how fascinating! I seeeee how you get the finish now, very clever. Can’t quite see why the other two clasps aren’t good enough, but I bow to your expert judgement!!
