Today’s desk doesn’t look too much different from last week’s, mainly because I’m still waiting on my order of serger needles from my local fabric store. (It’s been two weeks and I’m starting to get aggravated. I like to support local, family owned shops, but I’m sure I would have had them by now if I’d ordered them online. )
I’m waiting on the serger needles because I’m down to my last one. A single needle is good for rolled hems (like for the bamboo garments I finished yesterday), but I want two for clean-finishing the insides of my lavender jacket and Easter dress. Hence, that pile of fabric is still on the table. (I refuse to cut out anything else until I can finish those two garments. Maybe I will place an online order for serger needles . . .)
Last night I decided to clear a spot and work on some Easter cards. As a rough beginning I’m using this Assembly Line Scrapbooking technique from Club Scrap. I doubt that I’ll follow it exactly, and I’m sure I’ll be adding lots of inking, stamping and embossing, but it’s a good place to get started. And what in the world could that plastic tubing be for? Something interesting, I’ll bet. 😉

I inspected the desk first and thought I’d ask aboutt he tubing – are you taking up making your own beer as well?!! Am late enough to read that your needles finally arrived – am very glad because I’m looking forward to more of your brave dressmaking…the turquoise bamboo all came out marvellous; amazed at the way you tweak things and not get in a panic!
Haha, Julia, good guess! We did make our own beer once. It was a lot of fun (and pretty good beer, too.)
But, nope, the tubing is definitely for a girly-girl type craft.

I hope your needles finally arrived. I like the wooden storage unit you have at the back of your desk, I’ve been thinking of getting something like that for myself.

I found the storage unit at Ocean State Job Lot some time ago. My husband drilled holes in two of the cubes and made shelves to further divide them.
The needles did finally arrive, I’ve been serging all morning. 🙂
