I may have mentioned it before, but I love cool techniques!\u00a0 So when I stumbled across Tim Holtz and his videos, books, online tutorials and his blog, I flipped.<\/p>\n

If you’re at all familiar with him\u00a0then you know what I mean.\u00a0 He’s the guy who came up with the\u00a0 foil tape embossing photo frame\u00a0idea that I mentioned last week.\u00a0 He’s a master at creative techniques in rubber stamping, paper crafts and beyond.<\/p>\n

Anyhow, this year, every day for the first 12 days of December, he posted tutorials on his blog for making his “12 Tags of Christmas.”\u00a0 I decided to follow along and made nine of them, but made cards instead.\u00a0 Silly me, I didn’t take pictures of all of them, but here are the one’s I’ve got:<\/p>\n

You can find his tutorials here<\/a>, if you want to check them out. This one turned out to be my favorite.\u00a0 In fact, I didn’t give it to anyone but am keeping it for me!<\/p>\n

It’s based on Tim’s day seven tag, where you will find his recipe for making the faux snow.\u00a0 What a fun mess!<\/p>\n

Meh, this one with the stockings came out ok.\u00a0 Did it on day nine.<\/p>\n

Interestingly enough, the day four design, upon which the below\u00a0card was based, was one of my least favorite of Tim’s tags, but I was quite pleased with this card once I finally finished it.<\/p>\n

I spent an entire day on this one (what WAS I thinking?) The words at the top finally came out great, but take it from me – ANY kind of ink will bleed terribly when stamped on satin ribbon. Save yourself some headaches and try twill tape instead, works great!<\/p>\n

I think the friends I sent it to really liked it, as they emailed me this photo of the card in a frame, and said they plan to take it out every year.<\/p>\n

It was a lot more work making cards, rather than just tags.\u00a0 I’m not sure if I’ll do it this way again.<\/p>\n
