Specifically, I challenged myself to make a polymer clay dragon every week of the year!<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few of them:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/dragons-of-2015\/Dragon-Collage-1500x1500.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/dragons-of-2015\/Dragon-Collage-1500x1500.jpg\" alt=\"Dragon Collage 1500x1500\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Click on the photos for a closer look.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You can read about WHY I did the challenge here, in <a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2015\/01\/08\/thursdays-dragon-1-new-series-errol-wanderer\/\" target=\"_blank\">my post on Errol, dragon #1<\/a>\u00a0and you can review all 52 dragons on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/sandysewin\/thursdays-dragon\/\" target=\"_blank\">my Thursday&#8217;s Dragon Pinterest board<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/dragons-of-2015\/tigers-voyage-dragons.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/dragons-of-2015\/tigers-voyage-dragons.jpg\" alt=\"tiger's voyage dragons\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These are some of my favorites, dragons based on the book,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1454903570\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1454903570&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkId=ZAEYDEH7NOMT5MHV\" target=\"_blank\">Tiger\u2019s Voyage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Completing the challenge accomplished what I hoped it would, as I&#8217;m now much more disciplined about working on my art, rather than just looking at what other people have done and collecting ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, but I do have ideas! And now that\u00a0I have time to work on my 2016 plans here are some of them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Use what I learned in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shareasale.com\/r.cfm?b=417468&amp;u=740293&amp;m=29190&amp;urllink=&amp;afftrack=\" target=\"_blank\">Torch Fired Precious Metal Clay Class<\/a>\u00a0I took on Craftsy<\/span>. Jenny Vestal does\u00a0a great job breaking it all down for beginners. Now I just need to buy some PMC and get started.<em> I\u00a0definitely want to make dragons out of silver clay!<\/em><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Continue working on polymer clay sculpture with a focus on figures<\/span>. I especially want to develop expression and personality in my pieces. I didn&#8217;t get\u00a0the concept of conditioning the clay properly and they&#8217;ve all since crumbled. Let that be a lesson to ya!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0891349278\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0891349278&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkId=T7E74J4CZ2HK5KUI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Family and Friends in Polymer Clay<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=secroforgapeo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0891349278\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0&#8211; This one is exciting to think about as I can&#8217;t tell you how many times I&#8217;ve studied someone&#8217;s face and thought, &#8220;I want to sculpt them.&#8221; Now to get some willing subjects&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Create weekly polymer clay tutorials for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/sandysewin\" target=\"_blank\">my YouTube channel<\/a><\/span>. I&#8217;ve already started and these will be uploaded every Wednesday, beginning\u00a0in February.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Continue to write tutorials for Polymer Caf\u00e9 magazine<\/span>. I have some exciting news regarding that publication, but it will have to wait until later, when I can share.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Perhaps turn some of the dragon projects into tutorials?<\/span> I&#8217;m still considering how best to accomplish that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So those of some of my plans for 2016.
