I spent the afternoon planting flowers and the evening sewing.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Brother Serger Overlocker 1034D\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0000CBK1L\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B0000CBK1L&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkId=GE5B3RIEF5WLGDI5\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&amp;ASIN=B0000CBK1L&amp;Format=_SL250_&amp;ID=AsinImage&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;WS=1&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=secroforgapeo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B0000CBK1L\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My\u00a0new overlocker (serger for those of you who asked) arrived and I&#8217;ve been having fun. So far I&#8217;ve whipped up\u00a0the pink denim skirt and a white knit top. Turns out the white knit fabric was a <em>leeeetle<\/em> bit too thin for comfort, so I&#8217;ll need to line it before showing it to the world. And of course I can&#8217;t show the skirt without a top, now can I? \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Hidden under the left side of the sketchbook is a reversible knit top I&#8217;m working on. Why is it reversible? Well, that&#8217;s a story for another day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-05-28-woyww-zentangles-1.JPG\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-05-28-woyww-zentangles-1.JPG\" alt=\"2014 05 28 woyww zentangles (1)\" width=\"450\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also on the\u00a0desk today is another new thing I&#8217;ve been trying, Zentangles. You could call them &#8220;doodle art.&#8221; I&#8217;ve never been much of a drawer, my strengths lie in color and composition, but one thing I learned in art school is that with enough practice anybody can draw. \u00a0There\u00a0have been occasions when I&#8217;ve wanted to doodle, but always ran out of ideas for designs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-05-28-woyww-zentangles-2.JPG\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-05-28-woyww-zentangles-2.JPG\" alt=\"2014 05 28 woyww zentangles (2)\" width=\"450\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These are kind of fun. You learn a few new patterns every day and they&#8217;re actually quite relaxing to do (hence the &#8220;Zen&#8221; part.)<\/p>\n<p>This is the perfect kind of project\u00a0to have for those moments you find yourself waiting around and wishing you had a little something to occupy yourself. But I&#8217;ve found all I need is a sketchbook, a Pigma Micron pen and a mechanical pencil. I also made myself 3.5-inch and 1-inch square templates out of index cards.<\/p>\n<p>Wondering why I posted a photo of my workspace?
