{"id":6107,"date":"2014-04-22T19:35:47","date_gmt":"2014-04-22T23:35:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/?p=6107"},"modified":"2014-04-22T19:35:47","modified_gmt":"2014-04-22T23:35:47","slug":"woyww-sewing-spring-summer-clothes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2014\/04\/22\/woyww-sewing-spring-summer-clothes\/","title":{"rendered":"WOYWW &#8211; Sewing Spring &#038; Summer Clothes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello again, Wednesday!\u00a0I hope you all had a blessed Resurrection Day and are enjoying some nice spring weather (or fall weather, for our\u00a0friends down under.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-04-23-woyww-sewing-spring-clothes-1.JPG\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-04-23-woyww-sewing-spring-clothes-1.JPG\" alt=\"2014 04 23 woyww sewing spring clothes (1)\" width=\"450\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s desk shows that I&#8217;ve been sewing like crazy the past few days. \u00a0Suddenly I decided I wanted a new spring\/summer wardrobe.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, since Saturday I have made:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>crop pants in embroidered linen (photos &amp; pattern review coming soon)<\/li>\n<li>the above pictured top with fuchsia crinkle knit and striped band (it&#8217;s yet another copy of<a title=\"copying a purchased garment - summer knit top\" href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2013\/05\/02\/copying-a-purchased-garment-summer-knit-top\/\"> this top<\/a>, which I love)<\/li>\n<li>the same top in turquoise sparkle knit<\/li>\n<li>I also repaired the bead embroidery on <a title=\"add pizzazz to a boring garment\" href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2013\/09\/30\/add-pizzazz-boring-garment\/\">this top<\/a>\u00a0(the green\u00a0&amp;\u00a0blue print above)<\/li>\n<li>cut out the sarong part for another <a title=\"summery sarong skirt - free pattern\" href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2011\/06\/17\/summery-sarong-shorts-free-pattern\/\">sarong skirt<\/a> from the brown\u00a0&amp;\u00a0black print above (there a link to the free pattern in the post, btw)<\/li>\n<li>made a pattern from the black top in the pile (I know you can&#8217;t see it, but I promise to show it once I&#8217;ve made it up in a new fabric.)<\/li>\n<li>AND I ordered 11 yards of fabric for another SIX\u00a0pairs of pants &#8211; Ambitious much? \ud83d\ude00 (I was very\u00a0pleased with the fit of the crop pants, made from <a title=\"Make the best fitting pants ever\" href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2012\/12\/01\/how-to-make-the-best-fitting-pants-ever\/\">my custom drafted pattern<\/a> and really could use more variety in my closet.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-04-23-woyww-sewing-spring-clothes-2.JPG\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-04-23-woyww-sewing-spring-clothes-2.JPG\" alt=\"2014 04 23 woyww sewing spring clothes (2)\" width=\"448\" height=\"314\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This fuchsia crinkle knit is an interesting fabric. It&#8217;s a double layer fabric and the crinkles are made because the upper layer is larger than the lower layer. I&#8217;m not sure how they do it, but the upper layer is tacked at intervals to the lower and the spaces where it&#8217;s not tacked are crinkles. \u00a0It was actually much easier to work with than I expected it to be. There were two layers to handle when hemming, but since they were tacked together it wasn&#8217;t bad.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-04-23-woyww-sewing-spring-clothes-3.JPG\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2014-04-23-woyww-sewing-spring-clothes-3.JPG\" alt=\"2014 04 23 woyww sewing spring clothes (3)\" width=\"459\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a closer look at the turquoise fabric.
