Rather than his usual style of lots &amp; lots of layers of stuff, this involved using masks to make layers of stamping. It results in a nice flat card that has the look of dimension, but is easily mailed.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, I had to pick a stamp that was kinda tricky to make a mask from, Hero Art&#8217;s\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0031H6RP6\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B0031H6RP6\" target=\"_blank\">Silhouette Grass<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0stamp. I only masked the solid parts of the grass, so the letters from my\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003BFNC10\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B003BFNC10\" target=\"_blank\">Old Letter Writing Stamp<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0would show behind the thinner bits of the grass.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/august-2013-tim-holtz-tag-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" alt=\"august-2013-tim-holtz-tag-2\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/august-2013-tim-holtz-tag-2.jpg\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My stamped butterflies were kind of lost, so I outlined them with a <a title=\"Picket Fence Distress Marker\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B007FWRN9W\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B007FWRN9W&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20\" target=\"_blank\">Picket Fence Distress Marker<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=secroforgapeo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B007FWRN9W\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>. The trick with this white marker is patience. \u00a0When you first put marker to paper, it looks like you&#8217;ve accomplished nothing, but if you wait just a few seconds, the white will appear.<\/p>\n<p>A little bit of\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0013JLDVC\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B0013JLDVC\" target=\"_blank\">Vintage Photo<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0Distress Ink around the edges and some\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman';\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0093K00B2\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B0093K00B2&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20\" target=\"_blank\">Baker&#8217;s Twine<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0finished it up.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not the fanciest card I&#8217;ve ever made, but it was quick, and it&#8217;ll do. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Happy creating!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tim&#8217;s technique for this month was an interesting one.
