Tim Holtz’s tag for this month<\/a> is so cool, I thought it needed to be made in a more substantial form than just a tag.<\/p>\n

A little 5×7 canvas was perfect. \u00a0However, I quickly realized that Distress Stains and Distress Inks wipe right off the finish of the canvas. \u00a0What to do for a little background color?<\/p>\n

After poking around in my supplies, I decided to try mixing\u00a0Matte Multi Medium<\/a>\u00a0with some Distress Reinkers. \u00a0I worked like a charm to give a soft, watercolor look. \u00a0I used reinkers in\u00a0Broken China<\/a>,\u00a0Vintage Photo<\/a>, Faded Jeans<\/a>\"\" and Pine Needles<\/a>\"\".\"\"<\/p>\n

The pens in the bottom left corner were stamped in\u00a0Jet Black StazOn Ink<\/a>\u00a0with the\u00a0Curious Possibility<\/a>\u00a0stamp set.<\/p>\n

The font I used to print the verses is called Artistamp; isn’t it perfect for this project? \u00a0You can download the font for free here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ribbon (Tim Holtz Trimmings<\/a>) was colored with\u00a0Wild Honey Distress Stain<\/a>,\u00a0Fired Brick Distress Stain<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Vintage Photo Distress Stain<\/a>, then stamped with a stamp from Tim’s\u00a0The Journey<\/a>\u00a0stamp set.<\/p>\n

The paper on the background was embossed with the\u00a0Clock embossing folder<\/a>\u00a0and colored with several Distress inks, including\u00a0Vintage Photo<\/a>,\u00a0Wild Honey<\/a>,\u00a0Faded Jeans<\/a>,\u00a0Walnut Stain<\/a>,\u00a0Aged Mahogany<\/a>\"\",\u00a0\u00a0Broken China<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Peeled Paint<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The gears were cut out of Grunge paper<\/a>\u00a0with my Sizzix Big Shot<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Gadget Gears Die<\/a>. They were painted with Brushed Pewter Distress Crackle Paint<\/a>, \u00a0Tarnished Brass Distress Crackle Paint<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Deco Art Dazzling Metallics-Worn Penny<\/a>.
\n<\/p>\n

Then, like Tim always has us do, I sanded them and inked them with\u00a0Vintage Photo<\/a>\u00a0Distress ink. \u00a0The distress only sticks to the places where the paint was sanded away, so it’s a cool look.<\/p>\n

A strip of\u00a0Filmstrip Ribbon<\/a>, some\u00a0Sprocket Gears<\/a>, a\u00a0Game Spinner<\/a>, an\u00a0Idea-Ology 1-Inch Corner<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0Trinket Pin<\/a>\u00a0finish up the project.<\/p>\n

I’m enjoying having this canvas on \u00a0my desk as a constant reminder of what is most important. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
