{"id":4180,"date":"2012-11-19T18:44:17","date_gmt":"2012-11-19T23:44:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/?p=4180"},"modified":"2015-07-04T22:23:49","modified_gmt":"2015-07-05T02:23:49","slug":"bead-wire-napkin-rings-video-tutorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2012\/11\/19\/bead-wire-napkin-rings-video-tutorial\/","title":{"rendered":"Bead &#038; Wire Napkin Rings Video Tutorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/beads-and-jewelry\/bead-and-hammered-wire-napkin-ring-still.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/beads-and-jewelry\/bead-and-hammered-wire-napkin-ring-still.jpg\" alt=\"bead-and-hammered-wire-napkin-ring-still\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Places like Pier One and Marshalls always seem to have great funky home dec stuff like these beaded napkin rings. \u00a0Of course, the problem with being a crafter is that I never manage to buy them cuz, of course, <em>I can make it myself<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>So, finally, I did. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/beads-and-jewelry\/bead-and-hammered-wire-napkin-rings-still-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/beads-and-jewelry\/bead-and-hammered-wire-napkin-rings-still-2.jpg\" alt=\"bead-and-hammered-wire-napkin-rings-still-2\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Partly it was because I just wanted an excuse to use my newest tool, this adorable little jeweler&#8217;s anvil.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 120px; height: 240px;\" src=\"http:\/\/rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/cm?t=secroforgapeo-20&amp;o=1&amp;p=8&amp;l=as1&amp;asins=B0018N9WNY&amp;ref=tf_til&amp;fc1=000000&amp;IS2=1&amp;lt1=_blank&amp;m=amazon&amp;lc1=0000FF&amp;bc1=FFFFFF&amp;bg1=FFFFFF&amp;f=ifr\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Hey, smack some stuff around with a hammer, maybe get out a little aggression, haha.<\/p>\n<p>When you watch the video you&#8217;ll see the actual scale; it just fits in your hand. \u00a0Cute and useful!<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the video, happy creating. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/umv94ob0iU4\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"450\" height=\"336\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Materials:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>16-gauge wire (25-inches for each napkin ring)<\/li>\n<li>5mm beads (30 for each napkin ring)<\/li>\n<li>26-gauge wire<\/li>\n<li>chain nose pliers<\/li>\n<li>wire cutters<\/li>\n<li>bench block or jeweler\u2019s anvil<\/li>\n<li>hammer<\/li>\n<li>1-inch diameter dowel or form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Instructions<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Cut a 25-inch length of 16-gauge wire.\u00a0 Use chain nose pliers to make a loose spiral with first 5 inches of wire (3-4 wraps.)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Leaving wire on spool, thread 30 beads onto 26-gauge wire.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Wrap 1-2 inches of 26-gauge wire onto 16-gauge wire in a \u00bc-inch section, starting where spiral ends.\u00a0 Continue wrapping 26-gauge wire around 16-gauge, occasionally feeding out a bead until all beads are used and all but last 5 inches of 16-gauge wire is wrapped.\u00a0 Finish by wrapping 1-2 inches of 26-gauge wire onto 16-gauge wire in a \u00bc inch section.\u00a0 Trim 26-gauge wire and tuck in end.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Use chain nose pliers to make a spiral with last 5 inches of 16-gauge wire (3-4 wraps.)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Use flat part of hammer to gently pound spiral on bench block or anvil until wire is flattened.\u00a0 If desired, pound with rounded part of hammer to give texture.
