Yesterday being my 25th anniversary, here’s a pic of a tag I made a few weeks ago using a photo from our wedding.<\/p>\n

Such kids we were! \u00a0Times and finances being what they are, we aren’t doing much<\/del>\u00a0anything by way of celebration, but I figured I could at least make him a nice card.<\/p>\n

This card was inspired by a similar one by Lisa Somerville in Just Steampunk 2011 (p. 83.) \u00a0I loved her use of Jim Croce’s lyrics, but thought it would be an excellent\u00a0excuse to buy<\/del>\u00a0opportunity to use some of the\u00a0Tim Holtz Mini Bottles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"time-in-a-bottle-card-words\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The computer font is called Beyond Wonderland and can be found for free at DaFont<\/a>. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

After printing the words onto my cardstock panel, I embossed the left side with the\u00a0Steampunk embossing folder<\/a>. \u00a0Before embossing, I inked the top portion of the embossing folder with\u00a0Shabby Shutters<\/a>\"\"\u00a0Distress Ink. \u00a0This got the ink down into the lower portions of the design and left the raised areas the color of the card stock.<\/p>\n

I inked around the right side of the words with\u00a0Shabby Shutters<\/a>\"\"\u00a0to try to blend it in and create a sort of halo around the verse. \u00a0All the edges were inked with\u00a0Vintage Photo<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Walnut Stain<\/a>\u00a0Distress Inks.<\/p>\n

The gears were cut using the\u00a0Gadget Gears Die<\/a>\"\"\u00a0and were then lightly rubbed with several different\u00a0Metallic Rub-Ons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The bottle was filled with glitter, seed beads and tiny watch parts. \u00a0The I filled the whole thing up with Glossy Accents<\/a>\u00a0and stuck on the cork. \u00a0(It just occurred to me that if I put the cork on, the glossy accents on the inside may never dry. \u00a0Hmmmmm…..)<\/em><\/p>\n

The inside panel was decorated with the clock stamp from Tim Holtz’s clear stamp set\u00a0The Journey<\/a>. I used a variety of blue & green chalk inks. \u00a0The “Happy Anniversary” is from Hero Arts’ Everyday Sayings<\/a>\"\"\u00a0clear stamp set.<\/p>\n

This was a fun card to make, although it was kind of a pain to put together because he was working from home the whole time. \u00a0Every time he came upstairs I had to throw it under something and start making like I was working on something else, lol.<\/p>\n
