Organizing Fabric and Patterns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the first Wednesday in several weeks that\u00a0does not find the <a title=\"trench coat pattern review\" href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2011\/11\/22\/pattern-review-trench-coat-simplicity-4084\/\">trench coat<\/a> on my worktable.\u00a0 Instead, it is done and hanging in my closet.\u00a0 In fact, it&#8217;s raining today, so I got to wear it, yay!<\/p>\n<p>I quickly discovered that the belt is the perfect length for getting caught in the car door and dangling out.\u00a0 Must shorten it.\u00a0 Other than that, I&#8217;m loving it.<\/p>\n<p>After finishing a large project it&#8217;s good to take the time to reorganize.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve found it&#8217;s helpful to keep the pattern you&#8217;re thinking of using with its intended fabric.\u00a0 Things may change later on, but at least you&#8217;ll know what your original plan was.<\/p>\n<p>On my table today are just a few (NOT all) of my pending sewing projects.\u00a0 This will all be stacked in a large basket which gets stored under my table.<\/p>\n<p>Oh dear.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2011-11-23-woyww-organizing-patterns-and-fabrics.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2011-11-23-woyww-organizing-patterns-and-fabrics.jpg\" alt=\"2011-11-23-woyww-organizing-patterns-and-fabrics\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Going clockwise from the top left:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>While I haven&#8217;t been papercrafting lately, I have remained quite diligent in my purchasing of papercrafting supplies.\u00a0 Here you can only see the <a title=\"Tim Holtz Townscape Die\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B004AU4YY4\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373&amp;creativeASIN=B004AU4YY4\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Holtz Townscape Die<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=secroforgapeo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B005ACDBLI&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>.\u00a0 I&#8217;m thinking I won&#8217;t have time to make my cards this Christmas, but I still had to have the stamp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2011-11-23-woyww-precious-gift-stamp.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2011-11-23-woyww-precious-gift-stamp.jpg\" alt=\"2011-11-23-woyww-precious-gift-stamp\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Next clockwise is my new favorite draped top pattern, McCalls 6078 with a pink ITY and a red sweater knit.\u00a0 I&#8217;m thinking of making the red one <em>today<\/em> to wear to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.\u00a0 Am I nuts, or what?<\/li>\n<li>The red dotted fabric is for\u00a0a dress I didn&#8217;t get to in the spring.\u00a0 Maybe for Christmas&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>The black, white &amp; pink boucle is for a Chanel style jacket.\u00a0 The lining is still in its packaging from Fabric Place, with a receipt dated 2007.\u00a0 I really need to get on that.<\/li>\n<li>To the right of that is the pattern I used to make my aforementioned <a title=\"trench coat\" href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2011\/11\/22\/pattern-review-trench-coat-simplicity-4084\/\">trench coat<\/a> along with the fabric, lining, buttons and buckle to make another.\u00a0 (This will not be happening any time soon!)\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a view of the buckle, and a better depiction of the blue color.<a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2011-11-23-woyww-belt-buckle.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/woyww\/2011-11-23-woyww-belt-buckle.jpg\" alt=\"2011-11-23-woyww-belt-buckle\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>The pattern below that is possibly for gifts for my quilting group.\u00a0 Thinking, thinking &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Next to that is the cutest little chef&#8217;s hat, apron and oven mitt set for the granddaughter.<\/li>\n<li>The jacket pattern with green fabric and lining are also leftovers from last spring.\u00a0 I really do need some jackets, gotta get busy.<\/li>\n<li>Next to that and last, but certainly not least, is a gorgeous piece of black Regency wool.\u00a0 This was acquired for next to nothing when my local fabric store went out of business.\u00a0 I&#8217;m pretty sure I took what was left on the bolt.\u00a0 There&#8217;s enough there to make the 12-gore skirt (the white one on\u00a0the pattern, ooooo, swishy) or the jacket, but not both.\u00a0 Or maybe I&#8217;ll make the button down top from the other pattern and a simpler skirt.\u00a0 Dunno yet&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I also have the <a title=\"snuggies for Christmas\" href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2011\/11\/16\/woyww-snuggies-for-christmas\/\">snuggies<\/a> I showed last week to make.\u00a0 Christmas gifts will have to take priority from this point on.\u00a0 Right now I&#8217;m off to whip up a red top.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Creating!<\/p>\n<p>P.S.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re wondering why I&#8217;m sharing a photo of my workdesk, go <a title=\"stamping-ground.blogspot\" href=\"http:\/\/stamping-ground.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">here <\/a>to check out the messiness, neatness and general creativity and fun other workdesks around the world.<\/p>\n<p>******Update 11\/23, 5:15 p.m. &#8211;
