{"id":234,"date":"2010-11-12T15:36:22","date_gmt":"2010-11-12T20:36:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/?p=234"},"modified":"2012-06-01T18:09:48","modified_gmt":"2012-06-01T22:09:48","slug":"birthdays-are-natures-way-of-telling-us-to-eat-more-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2010\/11\/12\/birthdays-are-natures-way-of-telling-us-to-eat-more-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Birthday&#8217;s Are Nature&#8217;s Way of Telling Us To Eat More Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been following Kristina Werner&#8217;s Holiday Card Series over at her blog, and\u00a0was going to make another Christmas card today, but then I remembered a friend who has a birthday coming up next week.\u00a0 Kristina&#8217;s day 2 design works perfectly for a birthday card.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/Christmas card day 2 smaller.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/Christmas card day 2 smaller.jpg\" alt=\"birthday card with paper pieced flower\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kristina\u00a0used her Silhouette to cut out the card and flower.\u00a0 Since I don&#8217;t have a Silhouette, I used my\u00a0Coluzzle.\u00a0 The center circle is 2 3\/4&#8243; and the green cardstock is 4 1\/2&#8243;.\u00a0 For the flower I punched 1 1\/4&#8243; circles and glued them around the back of the inner circle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/birthday-card-flower-with-punched-circles.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/birthday-card-flower-with-punched-circles.jpg\" alt=\"birthday-card-flower-with-punched-circles\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a good idea to use a repositionable adhesive on the back of the circle you&#8217;re covering with round punches as, inevitably, something will have to be repositioned at the end.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/birthday-card-flower-with-punched-circles-back.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/birthday-card-flower-with-punched-circles-back.jpg\" alt=\"birthday-card-flower-with-punched-circles-back\" width=\"400\" height=\"390\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In order to have a completely round card, and not have a slice missing at the top, cut two circles for your card base.\u00a0 Score one of the circles an inch or so from one edge and cover that small section with glue.\u00a0 Adhere your other circle and now you have a round card that will open neatly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/birthday-card-how-to-make-a-round-card.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/birthday-card-how-to-make-a-round-card.jpg\" alt=\"birthday-card-how-to-make-a-round-card\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Supplies used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Solid\u00a0cardstock:\u00a0 Best Occasions Textured Cardstock in Pastel<\/li>\n<li>Patterned paper for flower petals and center circle: Debbie Mumm 4.5&#8243;x6.5&#8243; Premium Pack with Glitter, Baby Boy<\/li>\n<li>Stamp set: Fiskars Make a Wish Quotes<\/li>\n<li>Ink: Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink, Dark Moss<\/li>\n<li>White Gel Pen: Signo Uniball Broad<\/li>\n<li>Glues:\u00a0 Hermafix Dotto &amp;\u00a0Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi-Medium, Matte<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been following Kristina Werner&#8217;s Holiday Card Series over at her blog, and\u00a0was going to make another Christmas card today, but then I remembered a friend who has a birthday coming up next week.\u00a0 Kristina&#8217;s day 2 design works perfectly for a&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[92],"tags":[121,123,122,124,19],"class_list":["post-234","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-cards","tag-birthday-card","tag-faux-stitching","tag-punched-circle-flower","tag-round-card","tag-rubber-stamping"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
