Getting Started"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Kristina Werner design blog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kwernerdesign.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kristina Werner<\/a>\u00a0is in the middle of her Holiday Card series for the second year.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve got to admire her stamina as she puts up a new card video every weekday for five weeks.\u00a0 And <a title=\"Holiday Card Series day 10\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kwernerdesign.com\/blog\/?p=4413\" target=\"_blank\">today&#8217;s post <\/a>has THREE cards, wow.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to play along as best I can this year.\u00a0 There isn&#8217;t room in the budget right now to go buy a bunch of supplies, so I dug out what I could find.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s my first card for today, based on <a title=\"Holiday Card Series day 1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kwernerdesign.com\/blog\/?p=4304\" target=\"_blank\">Kristina&#8217;s day one design<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/Christmas card day 1 smaller.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/cards\/Christmas card day 1 smaller.jpg\" alt=\"merry christmas card reindeer\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First I clear embossed the red paper with the Music Background stamp.\u00a0 Then I went over all the embossing with Barn Door Distress ink, and did just the edges with Aged Mahagony.<\/p>\n<p>The green paper was cut to 1 1\/2&#8243; wide and the edges inked with Peeled Paint Distress ink.<\/p>\n<p>The white paper was cut into a slight hill shape and gone over lightly with Vintage Photo ink.<\/p>\n<p>I sanded the edges of the chipboard pieces and went over them with Vintage Photo ink as well.\u00a0 This worked great to make the brightly colored chipboard go with the more muted tones of the papers.<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s one of the wonkiest ribbons I&#8217;ve ever tied, sheesh.<\/p>\n<p>Supplies used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>rubber stamp &#8211; MemoryStor (This was in a 12&#8243;x12&#8243; paper pack with tote at Costco.\u00a0 At $20 for 300 double sided sheets, plus the tote, it seemed financially irresponsible NOT to buy it, lol.)<\/li>\n<li>green paper &#8211;
