Ok, we’re back to the 1988 scrapbook.\u00a0 Here’s a page I made using some random pics of my goofy husband and naughty cat.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"1988-01-hanging-out-at-home-sbp\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The door hinges are grungeboard from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Plain Elements set<\/a>\u00a0and painted with the Pitch Black Paint Dabber<\/a>.\u00a0 The large mat and the flourishes were embossed with the dots from the\u00a0Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Dots And Flowers<\/a>\"\".\u00a0 Most everything on this layout was inked with Vintage Photo\u00a0Distress ink. \u00a0(What can I say? It goes with everything!)\u00a0 The dots on the mat were inked with Broken China<\/a>\u00a0Distress ink.<\/p>\n

I LOVE my Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes Bigz Die<\/a>.\u00a0 The flourishes are great embellishments that work in most any type of layout.\u00a0 They add a decorative element without being too fancy or girly.<\/p>\n

\"1988-01-hanging-out-at-home-sbp-moses-close-up\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The transparancy around the lower middle photo is by Colorbok, “Transparency Frames, Natural.”\u00a0 The date and the numbers on the photos are from one of my favorite clear stamp sets, Autumn Leaves’ Clear Stamp – Messy Dates.<\/a>\u00a0 It’s one of those products I wasn’t too sure about when I bought it, but I’ve found it gets used a LOT.<\/p>\n

The “Hanging Out At” is the Sizzix Script alphabet, and the “Home” is also grungeboard, from the Grungeboard Alphas<\/a>\u00a0pack.\u00a0 Both were painted with Pitch Black Paint Dabber<\/a>\u00a0and then covered with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint<\/a>.\u00a0 Rock Candy Distress paint is another great product to add some shine and interest without being too glittery or glitzy.\u00a0 I use it so much, I need to order another bottle soon! The key is from Jo-Ann’s.<\/p>\n

Most of the papers are from a set by MemoryStor.\u00a0 This was in a 12\u2033x12\u2033 paper pack with tote at Costco.\u00a0 At $20 for 300 double sided sheets (less than 7 cents a sheet,) plus the tote, it seemed financially irresponsible NOT to buy it, lol.\u00a0 (Not too long ago, I sold the tote on Craigslist for $7.\u00a0 That brings the price down to less than 4.5 cents each, whoo-hoo!)<\/em><\/p>\n

And here’s the journaling:<\/p>\n

(The parenthetical comment in #1 is tongue-in-cheek, since it’s being written 23 years later, and now I do, indeed, have a whole room for my sewing & crafts.\u00a0 What a blessing!)\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 This little area is Sandy’s sewing corner.\u00a0 (She hopes someday to have a whole room of her own.) Once the baby comes, the cradle will have to go in this space.<\/p>\n

2. Gary & Moses relaxing together.\u00a0 (Well, maybe Moses isn’t quite so relaxed.)\u00a0 For some reason, this was the only time we had a fire in the fireplace.<\/p>\n

3. Moses drying off after a shower.\u00a0 Moses was a naughty kitty who liked to knock over the trash can and play with the contents.\u00a0 The squirt bottle never seemed to phase him, so we tried showers.\u00a0 Those didn’t seem to phase him much either.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Gary, Moses and Vern the fern.\u00a0 This fern was a gift, and we really, really tried to keep it alive.\u00a0 Sadly, it eventually succumbed to Sandy’s brown thumb.<\/p>\n
