{"id":12350,"date":"2018-03-30T11:24:47","date_gmt":"2018-03-30T15:24:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/?p=12350"},"modified":"2018-10-03T13:50:23","modified_gmt":"2018-10-03T17:50:23","slug":"using-ranger-alcohol-inks-with-translucent-polymer-clay-friday-findings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2018\/03\/30\/using-ranger-alcohol-inks-with-translucent-polymer-clay-friday-findings\/","title":{"rendered":"Using Ranger Alcohol Inks With Pardo Translucent Polymer Clay-Friday Findings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>If you\u2019ve ever used alcohol inks with polymer clay, carefully choosing colors and applying them just so\u2026<\/strong> only to have them look completely different when coming out of the oven, then you\u2019ve experienced the disappointment of color shift.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/polymer-clay-tutorials\/ff-ranger-alcohol-inks.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/polymer-clay-tutorials\/ff-ranger-alcohol-inks.jpg\" alt=\"ff ranger alcohol inks\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been using Ranger alcohol inks for years, and I have experienced that color shift issue several times.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Finally<\/strong> I got smart about it and created a chart showing the colors:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>straight out of the bottle, not mixed with clay<\/li>\n<li>mixed with translucent clay but unbaked<\/li>\n<li>mixed with translucent clay, rolled thin and baked<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Now I can clearly see why I\u2019ve been having trouble all these years!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>I really should do more testing of the sort, the time it takes would probably save a lot of time and aggravation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>In the video I\u2019ll show you not only how I put together this chart and the results<\/strong> (and made a better chart for <a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2018\/03\/16\/using-pinata-inks-lumiere-paints-pardo-translucent-polymer-clay-friday-findings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Pinata inks<\/a>!) but I\u2019ll also show you a cool trick I figured out for labeling bottles with black caps.
