{"id":1056,"date":"2011-01-22T15:46:39","date_gmt":"2011-01-22T20:46:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/?p=1056"},"modified":"2016-11-23T20:26:59","modified_gmt":"2016-11-24T01:26:59","slug":"marine-corps-graduation-scrapbook-pages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/2011\/01\/22\/marine-corps-graduation-scrapbook-pages\/","title":{"rendered":"Marine Corps Graduation Scrapbook Pages"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When my oldest son graduated from Marine Corps boot camp,\u00a0all of us (plus a family friend) drove down to South Carolina to be there.\u00a0 (AND to bring him home with us afterwards!)<\/p>\n<p>These scrapbook pages show the pin ceremony that happened the day before the actual graduation.\u00a0 You might be able to tell that I&#8217;m just a little bit happy to see him!\u00a0 (It had been over 13 weeks since he left.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/scrapbooking\/2007-01-18-pin-ceremony-b-sbp.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/scrapbooking\/2007-01-18-pin-ceremony-b-sbp.jpg\" alt=\"pin-ceremony scrapbook page right\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Here&#8217;s what the journaling says:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0&#8220;At noon on Thursday we headed to the facility for the pin ceremony.\u00a0 At this ceremony the recruits would receive their Eagle Globe Anchor pins and be called Marines for the first time.\u00a0 Since it was overcast and looking like rain, it was held inside.\u00a0 This was a bummer as there were a lot of drills the guys had practiced and there wasn&#8217;t room for them to do them indoors.\u00a0 It was impressive however, to hear 300 young men <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">shouting<\/span> the Marine Corps Hymn.\u00a0 (&#8220;From the Halls of Montezuma&#8230;&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">After the ceremony was over it was mayhem as all the family members streamed down from the bleachers and tried to find their new Marines.\u00a0We finally did locate Josh and couldn&#8217;t have been more proud.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/scrapbooking\/2007-01-18-pin-ceremony-a-sbp.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/keepsakecrafts.net\/blog\/wp-content\/gallery\/scrapbooking\/2007-01-18-pin-ceremony-a-sbp.jpg\" alt=\"pin-ceremony scrapbook page left\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The snaps are by <a title=\"aluminum snaps Making Memories\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B000S16JBU?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=secroforgapeo-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B000S16JBU\" target=\"_blank\">Making Memories<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=secroforgapeo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B000S16JBU\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/> and I found the Eagle Globe Anchor brads here.\u00a0 I punch a small circle and then punched a smaller circle out of that to make a way to spotlight where Josh was in formation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The photo corners are chipboard that I painted with <a title=\"Peeled Paint Distress Crackle Paint \" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2giQ2Kr\" target=\"_blank\">Peeled Paint Distress Crackle Paint <\/a>\u00a0and then edged with<br \/>\n<a title=\"Brushed Pewter Metallic Distress Crackle Paint \" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2gI8WMc\" target=\"_blank\">Brushed Pewter Metallic Distress Crackle Paint <\/a>.
