Last week I showed you how to get started creating these darling elf sculptures.
I also showed how to make their adorable little gift boxes, with lids that you can open.
For some reason it tickles my fancy to be able to tuck a small gift in there, even if it is only a single Hershey‘s kiss, haha.
You can apply the same techniques I show for these little boxes to make larger boxes of any size and shape you want. You may want to make your clay sheets thicker as the boxes get bigger, and if you want corners that are more square you might consider covering the sides with slabs and then trimming, rather than wrapping the clay around.
I always hope you take what I have shown, apply your own twist, and make a creation that is uniquely your own.

Tools and Materials:
- clay
- 2 oz. = 1 block: pants, hat and half the legs stripes
- 1 oz. = 1/2 block: shoes, shirt and sleeves
- 1 oz. = 1/2 block: other half of leg stripes and accents
- 1 oz. = 1/2 block: flesh tone
- 1/2 oz. = 1/4 block: gift
- small scraps of other colors for buttons, mittens & ribbon, if desired
- clay blade
- aluminum foil
- acrylic roller or pasta machine
- long acrylic block for rubber stamping
- 1/2″ round cutter
- leather stamping set
- mica powder
- craft knife
- toothpick
- needle tool
- Christi Friesen Can’t Live Without It tool
- wipe out tool
- 6 inch quilting ruler
- wooden block as a form for gift box
- rubber stamp for decorating box
- 3/16 inch kemper cutter for polka dots
- extra clay blade and magnets, optional

This was a really fun series Sandy , I just ordered Christie Fresins set of sculpting tools so as soon as I’m finished making the Christmas gifts (Pat Roberts Thompson tutorial ) I’ll start doing so sculpting ? !
