I came across this video on how they make filigree jewelry and was utterly fascinated. It’s in Spanish with English subtitles. The translation is a bit wonky in places, but you’ll get the jist. :-)

  1. Fascinating. They don’t show how he welds all the pieces together, but I guess they have to preserve one trade secret. Very beautiful work.

  2. Well, he’s been doing that since he was 12. Look at the old blocks of wood and the old tools he’s working with. I wonder what he charges.

    • I was most impressed with that charred piece of wood he used to melt the silver.

      Whatever he charges, I’m sure it’s not enough.
