The only changes in this workdesk for the past two weeks is that the pile of stuff has grown deeper.  I’ve been busy machine quilting a queen size quilt and haven’t done anything other than that except go shopping.  Hence, more stuff.

2011-06-01-whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesdayIn the top left corner is my jewelry making board, piled high with beads.  The beads  have to be reorganized before I can make anything else, which is why the new organizers are in the bottom left corner.

Next to the bead tray are two new patterns.  Did I NEED new patterns?  No. Do I NEED new tops? No. Were they really cute and only $1 at Joanns?  Yes.  Nuff said.

Other items on the desk includes a bracelet to be remade, it was a cool looking pattern but it’s irritating to wear, a package of supplies to make Roman shades for my living room, a list of projects to be completed, a new water erase marking pen, a plan for a scrapbook layout and my plan for quilting the queen size quilt.

I’m about halfway done with the quilt, I really hope to finish it in the next couple of days because (a) it’s going to get too stinkin’ hot around here to have a quilt draped over you, and (b) it’s keeping me from doing anything else.

Are you wondering why in the world I posted a photo of my workdesk?  Well, if you go over to Julia’s, you’ll find she’s done so as well.  In fact, you’ll find a long list of links to many other folks who have also shared in this What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Check it out, it’s kinda fun!

Happy crafting.  🙂

  1. I have just sent you an e-mail as you are my PIF receiver!! Funny I should be sending to another Quilter!
I saw your posting a while ago with the Simplicity Pattern 2247 which I ended up ordering from USA as I liked the style soo much. I bought some lovely Amy Butler fabric to make it up but need time and sun to get it made!
Do you always find that you want to quilt in the summer and not in the winter? Strange that!!

    xx

    1. Hey there, Hettie! Akismet marked your email as Spam, hmpff. Of course, I knew it most certainly wasn’t! You should have my reply with my address by now.

Make sure you post when you’ve finished the empire waist dress. I wore mine on Easter Sunday and was amazed at the number of compliments it got. It’s funny because often I’ll wear something I’m utterly thrilled with and nobody says a thing, but wear an outfit I’m iffy about, and they seem to love it. Go figure.

I don’t know about the quilting being seasonal, although I do try to save the big projects for cooler months. Mostly I alternate between different kinds of crafts. Last winter I completed tons of scrapbook pages and made many cards, so I was dying to get back to my sewing machine. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of sewing, so I’m itching to get back to the paper crafts. The only way I can figure to get it all done is to give up eating, sleeping and housework, not necessarily in that order, lol.

  2. ah now I think you may have had a harder week than me – queen size quilting – yep I can understand the need for interim retail therapy,

    happy 104

  3. Lovely desk and the pattern of you quilt looks lovely – look forward to see it when done ~ Happy WOYWW Anniversary

  4. AH HA !! now I can comment.
Lovely blog, you are a busy girl I can tell.
So happy to be receiving your PIF.
Keep smiling and creating, hope to see you next week too!!

  5. What a busy crafty lady you are …your desk is so interesting …love the look of your quilt pattern

    1. The quilt started out as an interent round robin. It came back with the brightly colored borders so very different from the pastel center, that I didn’t know what to do with it for over 10 years. Finally last year I took out the center and made the basket that’s in there now. Amazingly enough, I still had many of the same fabrics, so it was easy to make it match.

  6. Nice looking desk with lots of fun things to look at. Sorry I am so late getting around but it was a busy week. Happy WOYWW #104 and the 2nd anniversary of blog snooping! Thanks for sharing Vickie #55

  7. Yikes – busy busy! I can make something of the scrapbook sketch (nice one) and I can make something of the sewing patterns (cute neckline on the top pattern)….but the quilting is beyond me. What a labour of love! I hope by now you aren’t a weltering blob, but a smug, finished quilt owner!!

    1. Lol, Julia, I’ll bet you could do quilting just fine if you wanted to, but you look like you’re pretty busy yourself!

I did finish the quilting, just have to bind it and add a label. Phew, almost done.
